My Story
I was born in Managua, Nicaragua to an American father and a Nicaraguan mother, and I am a proud sister of 5 siblings! I consider myself an artistic person who loves being involved. There is not much I could say here that you wouldn't see in my profile, so without further ado, Welcome to my Zeemee!
DALE NICARAGUA
DALE is a summit of academic debates based on parliamentary procedure of the OAS. It's organized by students from different schools in Nicaragua.
In 2015, I won third place. Because of this, I was elected to be one of the Chairs for the 2016 Summit. This year, I'm the director of Spanish Committees.
HACIA DEMOCRACY
Debate is my biggest passion. HACIA is a conference organized by Harvard students that follows the parliamentary procedure of the OAS. I participated in HACIA 2015 and 2016 and will be attending HACIA 2017 this March. Last HACIA, I won third place, so my goal is to win first place this HACIA.
Panamerican School Model United Nations
I participated in PanAmerican School's MUN in Heredia, Costa Rica where I discussed Substance Abuse and Distribution of Pharmaceuticals in Underdeveloped countries. I represented South Africa and after two days of heated debate, I was able to win the Outstanding Delegate Award.
XVII Intercolegial Debate at Universidad Americana
I participated in an Intercollegiate debate hosted by the Universidad Americana. The topic of discussion was ''Higher Education''. My partners and I defended the claim that Online University was the future of Education. We were able to win the debate and I was awarded Best Delegate.
AASCA Leadership Conference
I got elected by my school to attend the AASCA leadership conference in Panama. This conference gathers young leaders from all over Central America in order to discuss issues our education system faces, provide public speaking classes, and exercise our critical thinking abilities.
Student Government
During the 2014-2015 school year, I was the secretary of the Student Government under the party named ''ONE''. Leadership is something very important to me, and I liked being able to share my ideas on how to make the school better.
In 2016, I decided to run for office again under the party LOLO.
Soccer
I have always loved this sport. However, I used to love watching it, since I thought I was not good enough to play. When I was in seventh grade, I finally took the step and tried for the team. Now, six years later, I have helped my team win more than 3 cups, and I became the sub captain of the team.
Music, Photography, Travel, and Dance
I consider myself a very artistic person. From dancing to playing instruments to photography, I like it all. I play the Piano and the drums. I dance jazz music and participated on a charity show and danced in the Nicaraguan Theatre. Traveling and taking pictures are my hobbies.
Escuelita Sagrada Familia- Volunteer Group
I am the Historian of the Sagrada Familia Community service group which goes to this public school to teach english to the kids, as well as arrange fundraisers to give christmas presents, buy new school materials, arrange a first communion to the kids, and more.
E4C- Entertaining for a Cause
E4C aims to entertain children with cancer in a public hospital in Managua, Nicaragua. Our main objective is to provide happiness and give hope to children who spend most of their day receiving treatment. We also carry out fundraising activities to supply them and their families with basic needs.
ANDL- Friends of Kids with Diabetes Lincoln
Amigos de NiƱos con Diabetes Lincoln (ANDL) is a community service group that hosts monthly parties for kids suffering from Diabetes in a public hospital in Nicaragua. Also, we collect funds to buy needles and necessary equipment for the kids.
KERIGMA- Volunteer Group
My best friend and I founded a student-led club that bi-weekly travels to a rural city or town in Nicaragua and teaches Catholic catechism to children under the age of 10. We mentor children by encouraging them to positively live their spiritual faith and teach them how to live by good morals.
Shes The First
She's The first aims to help young girls around the world to exploit their potential in order to become well-rounded professionals. The idea is to sell as many tie dye cupcakes as we can, and earn enough money to grant a scholarship to a girl in need.
HAT- Helping Animals Together
I helped coordinate and set up adoption fairs, , and accomplished getting animals fostered and adopted. I helped raise funds through bake sales in order to pay for the operation of a dog. Also, I helped raise awareness of the foundation through the use of social media.
