Alexa Smith

I am currently a sophomore at LHS. I am the eldest of 4; I have a step-brother named Dustin (15), a step-sister named Lexi (12), and a sister named Makenzie (11). My mom's name is Jennifer, my step-dad is John. We have 3 dogs, Nit-Nay (she's a boxer), & then Luke & Lucky (cocker spaniels).

Being apart of the Liberty Sapphires has been so much fun. I've learned so much, and gained 15 friends for life. On average we practice three days a week. Our season starts in March and ends the following February. We work hard and we all love to dance.

As of now I have my sights set on Iowa State University to attend college, were I aspire to earn a degree in a type of engineering (of which I haven't quite decided). I have grown up a Cyclone fan. My grandparents met while in college there. Followed by my mother who was also an ISU grad.

My family is SO very important to me! Without them I wouldn't be me, they are so supportive and so loving. We all love to laugh and be together. My grandfather's side of the family is Finnish, so I have a very strong desire to travel to Finland someday.

My friends mean a whole lot to me. I try to pick my friends wisely; I prefer to remain drama free. It is important to me that my friends know that they can count on me to be there when they need me. I also enjoy when I get to meet new people and make new friends!

Spirit weeks are one of my most favorite thing. It is kind of a challenge to me to be the most creative with my outfits. I have a love for fashion anyway that it makes it even more fun to dress up a little crazy. I also have a lot of school spirit, and use spirit week to try to get others involved!

I throughly enjoy chocolate, especially chocolate cake! My favorite color is purple. I am quite a perfectionist. I can be a little sassy sometimes, but hate being mean. I love people that can listen and understand other viewpoints. I like organization and I like to make sure I'm doing things right.

For my dance studio I was given the opportunity to assist my teachers in teaching a younger group. We helped in class, and backstage before competitions. We gave critics and helped the youngsters if they were struggling with different parts.

I am currently in POE (principles of engineering). I am interested in becoming an engineer of some sort. I enjoy knowing how things work and the math behind all the magic in the world within all of the technology we see and use today.
