Amelia Wallace

Hi! My name is Amelia and I am 17 years old. I have three brothers, one older and two younger, along with my two parents. I live with my 2 dogs, 5 cats, and my 2 lizards so I know a little bit about crazy. Every summer my family goes down to Avon, NC, my favorite place every and my second home.

I started tennis when I was 9 and have been playing ever since. I am a captain for the James River High School tennis team, one of the best teams I have ever been a part of. I played tennis at my local gym when I started out and continue to hit there, upping my game!

One of my hobbies is kiteboarding. I started about 4 years ago with my dad and brother in Avon, NC. It can be a hard to learn sport but after a couple wipeouts you get the hang of it. Every year we go on a kiteboarding trip, randomly picking somewhere tropical we had never been & go for it!

This is another program offered at James River for interested seniors. I am currently the Secretary of NHS, keeping all club members updated! We complete 20 hours a marking period as a way to give back to our community. This club has motivated me to get involved with Chesterfield and help out.

I started when playing when I was in fifth grade and fell in love with the sport. I played field hockey for James River my freshman, sophomore, and junior year of high school. My senior year I decided to focus more on academics and tennis, while continuing to cheer on the rapids.

Last year, 2016, me and my friends made a rec. basketball team. It was solely for fun and most of us had never even touched a basketball before. As you can see we were pretty intimidating and our uniforms were on point. 10/10 recommend trying this at least once in your life for the great memories.

Rapid Rowdies is a club at James River that supports the school by planning different events and activities to bring out the students and encourage them to cheer on the Rapids. It allows for me to be a bigger part of the school and have fun with friends while doing it.
