My Story

I was born and raised in Nicaragua. Lived in Costa Rica for 3 years and came back to start high school in Nicaragua, once I started high school and college I became as involved in my community as I possibly could be. I've always loved reading, debating, painting or just spending time with my family.

TEDxManagua

TEDx is an international community that organizes TED-style events everywhere. Its purpose is to inspire people to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world; Being part of this event inspired me to found the first TEDxYouth event in Nicaragua and the first TEDxLIA club at my school.

HACIA Democracy

Joining HACIA Democracy was the best decision I made during high school. I had the opportunity to travel to Cancun and Panama City to participate in the conference. It was a great opportunity to learn more about Latin American issues and to gain experience in public speaking and problem solving.

Operation Smile

Operation Smile is a non-profit organization that offers free surgeries to people with cleft lip and palate. I've been participating in many activities such as a color run to raise fonds, and served as interpreter for medical brigades. I love having opportunities like this to help and serve others.

Toys for Angels

This is an organization that collects toys throughout the year and organizes parties and activities during Christmas in rural areas for kids in need in order to deliver the gifts. I know we can't take away hunger with a toy, but our goal each year is to bring smiles to as many children as we can.
