Photography

I found photography accidentally. It was a second choice for an elective and I thought I'd try it. Turns out, I absolutely love it and am actually a talented photographer. I mostly focus on conceptual portrait photography, but I want to be a photojournalist since I love photography and traveling.

Volleyball

I have played school and club volleyball since 7th grade. Since freshman year I have been the libero on the Varsity team, which is a special position given to a player talented in defense. I would like to play at the intramural level in college.

Outdoor Activites

I've always loved being outside, enjoying nature, and exploring in general. I have a lake house where I kayak, paddleboard, hike, and swim. I have travelled to London, Costa Rica, and Jamaica, which has only fueled my love for exploration.

Music

All my life, music has been extremely important to me. It speaks to my issues, changes my mood, and connects me to others by our similar interest. This includes chorus, church choir, attending concerts, and just constantly singing to myself. I will never stop loving the art of music.

Other Arts

Besides photography, I love many other art forms, especially painting and drawing. I definitely want to explore printmaking in the future as well.

Animals

My love for animals has been fostered by my parents who feel the same as I do- that they have just as much personality and value as any person you meet.

Traveling

I absolutely love traveling, and want to continue it all my life. I've been to England, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and all over America. This is an important part of being a journalist, and would love to have some international experience in college.
