Christine Garrett

As an only child family is very important to me. In my free time I enjoy traveling, horseback riding, hiking, and going on adventures. At 5 feet tall, I certainly am small, but my presence is large, and I am never anything but original! Thanks for taking to time to learn more about me!

I have been a part of my school's yearbook since tenth grade. I started out as a staffer, then I became Editor of Student Life Section, and now I am the Staff Manager, Student Life Chief and Marketing Manager. Yearbook is where I discovered my passion for journalism!

I have performed in two plays and three musicals in my school. I was a lead in "Arsenic and Old Lace" and "Annie Get Your Gun." Theatre has been a wonderful experience, I have made life-long friendships, performed for hundreds of people, and found myself.

I am one of the founding members of Perry Hall High's Cappies Critic Team. I have been both a Critic and the Lead Critic. Last year, I lead my team to a Cappies Nomination for "Best Critic Team." My review for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" was published locally.

I was a one-person team for Marketing and Publicity for my school's show, "Legally Blonde" this past spring. I designed posters, painted signs, created a commercial, advertised in newspapers, and created a lobby display. I received a Cappies nomination for my work.

This past summer, I participated in a summer volunteer internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. I volunteered for a total of 75 hours. While there, I assisted nurses and clinical technicians, as well as helping to care for patients, in the preoperative and postoperative Endoscopy Unit.

In addition to the three posters I designed for "Legally Blonde," I have also designed posters for other events at school, including Yearbook and Improv Showcases! This has been fun for me because I also love graphic design and I get to use skills from my Digital Arts class.
