Jacqueline Cabrera

Hi there, I am Jacqueline. Houston, Texas is the place I call home and where I was born and raised. I am one that cannot be placed into one category due my abundant amount of interest and hobbies.Family is what keeps me going in life and motivates me to reach for the stars and never settle for less.

We live in a world that has so much to offer and discovering what specifically that is just fascinates me. When I first traveled by myself with EF Tours to Peru I discovered that I had a passion for traveling that I never knew I had before. Now, I cannot wait to discover the rest of the world.

YPAC is a council for youth from all around the Houston area. In YPAC youth become certified and knowledgable about on going problems in today's world, such as Teen Dating Violence,Drug Abuse, and etc. Also, we have meetings with the Chief of Police to discuss solutions to problems we are facing.

Out of a thousand kids I was one of the two hundred kids that were granted with a summer internship. Throughout, my internship at HPD I was able to learn how to redact cases, volunteer with officers, and go out into the field with them. After, I realized that Criminal Justice was my calling.

Being a Junior Volunteer was a life changing experience for me. I developed strong friendships with the other volunteers, but also the patients. Making patients smile and forget they were ill brought pure joy to me that I could not stop volunteering during the summer, so during holidays I returned.

Working at the House of Pies was an experience that I will never forget. I learned how to become more out going, how to work in tough situations, and how to handle all sorts of different people with different personalities. This is also the place where I discovered the importance of hard work.

I have always been passionate about baking all through my life. Baking allows me to explore my creative side by baking cakes, cookies, brownies, and other goodies from scratch. I enjoy baking on Holidays, special occasions, and on my free time.
