Katherine Butler

Having been born and raised in Austin, Texas there is never a dull moment. I have a younger brother, Lance and parents that love and support us both. I love music, laughter and trying new things. Life goes by fast and I know I don't want to miss a minute of it!

At Covenant United Methodist Church I have made some of my closest friends. Youth group is a place where everyone is welcome to have fun, play music, worship the Lord, help others on mission trips, and form fantastic relationships! I can't wait to continue my walk with Christ.

I am the saxophone section leader of my high school marching band and I love every second of it. Many of my friends join me in playing instruments and band has really given me so many new opportunities, in the last three years I've been to St.Louis, Winter Park Colorado and Hawaii with the program!

My sophomore year I had the privilege of taking an interior design class at my highschool. It was a lot of work but I really did enjoy everything about it, I was asked to be a "student teacher" for the class the following year but it did not make. Here is some of my work from that class.

My sophomore year, a water polo team was started at my high school. That year, both the boys and the girls teams advanced to state, the next year, both teams placed first in the region and again advanced to state. I can't wait to see what we will do this spring!

I have been on my neighborhood summer league swim team since I was 5 years old! Though I do not swim on the high school team, I love coming back every summer to get some great exercise, have a good time with friends, be a role model for younger swimmers and engage in some friendly competition!
