Lauren Burk

Hello! My name is Lauren Burk! I was recently accepted into Oklahoma Christian University! I currently live in Montana, I have eleven cats (absolutely crazy, I know!), I don't mean to toot my own horn 🎺but I play a mean trumpet, and I may not be the prettiest, but I am the most passionate!

Did you know that more people are afraid of public speaking than death? I'm lucky, because I've taken the bull by the horns and lettered in public speaking all four years of high school! I'm captain of my team, and last year I achieved 1st at the District Tournament for Serious Oral Interp!

I began trumpet in 5th grade. I've lettered in high school band and pep band all 4 years, I've been given first chair trumpet all 4 years, I'm the lead member of the Great Falls Central Catholic Music Matters Grant and Fundraising Committee, and played in the Great Falls Community Band for 2 years.

Over the 2016 summer, I worked as a counselor for Art and Drama teaching Boy Scouts how to act and paint!

I was awarded the John Phillip Sousa Award, I will play in All-Northwest Wind Symphony, I was invited to play with High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House, and I will be travelling to 17 European countries with Northwest Ambassadors of Music to play in a band!

I have been in a form of art class every year! 2 years of regular art and 2 years of Graphic Design/Yearbook. I've participated in the Young Masters Art Program in conjunction with Western Art Week for the past 2 years, and I took a pottery class by Jeff Kuratnick at Paris Gibson Square.

Although almost everything in this PDF file is already mentioned in my profile, this is put into a more formal format! I will include three recommendations, too!
