Luis Flores

I am a first generation student. Throughout my high school career, I've excelled in cross country, basketball, and football. Additionally, I am in the wind ensemble, in which I play trombone and piano. I enjoy learning more about myself by engaging in new opportunities.

Cross country season taught me that hard work pays off. Throughout my races I would almost be passing out while running but when I crossed the finish line with a medal, I knew it was all worth it. This is the way I should feel when struggling through a task, I know that at the end it'll be worth it

Basketball has been there for me through my ups and downs. I've met so many new people though this sport whether if it's at school, the gym or the park. I've learned how to trust my gut and believe in myself. I also leaned how to trust my teammates and play as a team.

Music has always been my passion. When I was sad about something I just needed to listen to piano music and I would feel better afterwards. I love piano and learning new songs. There is no giving up. Once I start a song I have to finish it. Persistence is the key to be good at anything.

I have been in the wind ensemble throughout my whole high school career. We constantly perform in front of the school or to parents. During pep rally's we have certain songs assigned for the occasion and students seem to enjoy our songs especially when it's an up beat song like Michael Jackson.

I am the President of the Backgammon Club at school. We meet every Monday for one hour and battle each other. The winner of the whole club would take home the board.
