My Story

My name is Luis Vargas, and I am one of those kids who are expected a lot from their family. I like to play soccer and spend time with my family. I like to explore places, and I give it my all until the end. I make sure I do things right. Future careers; professional soccer player or mech. engineer.

Positive Self Concept

People have their own ways in showing Positive Self-Concept, my story is my soccer year in the eight grade. I was determined to be the best that year, and yes I had people that supported me throughout my goal. I practiced everyday, I believed, afterwards it was just me to decide what I wanted.

Realistic Self-Appraisal

My strength for this topic is my grade, my report card. I used to get B's and B-'s, and of course my mom was disappointed. I started to work harder to boost my grades up, studied way more than I usually did, pushed through to be A student I used to be, the student my mom knew I could be.

Leadership

During our last game in the finals, I was helping and giving advice to others so they could reflect. I told them where to be and who to mark. A while later we got what we most desired, the win. Everyone was happy, they thanked me for the advice and that it had helped them.

Long range goals

My dream all along since I started playing soccer was to become a professional soccer player. Some people may doubt me, that I ain't good enough, but there is also people that think I can do it. They tell me I can accomplish anything, and they are right. All you have to do is believe and focus.

Community

There are people that help you along the way and when you need it. Even though you are not one of those sociable people you should try to find a place you fit in. Because your community, whatever you are a part of, they will have your back when you need it most. They will be there in tough moments.

Strong Support Person

Everyone has someone they can turn to for difficulties. Someone reliable, mine is my sister. My sister is always there, she listens when I have problems. I can turn to her for advice and help. Even for small things, I can turn to her for help. She is a person I look up to and want to do the same.

Non Traditional Knowledge

Ever since I was 5, I would try to draw pictures, but it all came out bad. I started to take classes and actually took my time to draw, instead of rushing. I wasn't always the best but I tried to do my best, I would be pleased with my outcome because I was never a natural, but things change.

Positive Self Concept pt 2

When I got my progress report I had gotten an 81, when I got home my mom had said that my grades were unacceptable. I was also upset with my grades. My mom had told me I was lucky it was progress report and I could still boost up my grades. Turns out she was right I had scored 2, 9.5's on 2 quizzes.

Realistic Self-Appraisal pt 2

Ever since I learned to play soccer, my life had one purpose, to be as good as Cristiano Ronaldo in dribbling. He was an inspiration to me, so I decided I wanted to be better. I joined the high school soccer team and tried to attend all practices, and I practice hard. To this day I still do.

Leadership pt 2

When our teacher mentioned that there was a prize to whoever got first place in jeopardy, I wanted to win. I told my tablemates that we needed to win, so I encouraged them. I instructed them what to do, it paid off we had the most points and somehow lost, but I told them we gave it our best.
