Mary Kate Sartori

I am a senior at Cor Jesu Academy. I love movies and film making. I'm excited for college and want a fun atmosphere, a good film program, and study abroad opportunities. I am fluent in movie quotes. In the future I plan to travel through space and time, directing and writing films and doing makeup.

I participated in my school's plays and musicals. I manned a spotlight on light crew, helped costume crew with hair and makeup, participated in chorus, and received a small part in my school's production of The Little Mermaid.

I worked at The Magic House also known as the Saint Louis Children's Museum. I helped kids and parents with directions, enforced safety rules, and made sure kids could have fun. I learned how to think on my feet and work through customer difficulties.

I create characters, monsters, and fake wounds for school projects, shorts films, and costumes. I have been paid to help with Halloween costumes, and I created a haunted house for grade schoolers. I recently won a contest sponsored by the makeup brand StarCrushed Minerals.

I went on a week long service trip to Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children. Clelian Heights contains a school for disabled kids 5 through 21 and a workshop where disabled adults can help their community, get paid work, and even live self-sufficiently in apartments.

I created a short video detailing my grade school's service project. They made and sent birthday bags to Operation Food Search - a St. Louis organization looking to end hunger in my area and help families in need. I made the video free of charge and plan to make more for my grade school.
