Samantha Ammons

I'm an 18 year old musician and student who is passionate about everything I do. In my free time, I write music, parle français, and do pilates. Additionally, I love to travel and learn about the languages of the world which I hope to be able to incorporate in my future career with music!

Our French club meets monthly throughout the school year and our meetings consist of learning about the French culture through films, music, and trying new foods!

I am a backup singer for Lola Toben, who has been my personal vocal coach for five years. The genre of the band's music is Pop & Soul, with a sound similar to Whitney Houston. The Kickbacks have played at Blueberry Hill, the Old Rock House, and in two weeks we'll be headlining at Delmar Hall!

This past summer, I attended Berklee College of Music for Five Weeks where I pursued studies in Vocal R&B/Pop performance. It was an amazing experience! I earned three college credits, performed music by Tweet and Lauryn Hill in an ensemble, and met amazing new friends that I hope to have for life.

I was fortunate to have been recruited by the directors of the St. Louis Teen Talent Show to perform "If I Were A Bell" from Guys and Dolls for the 50th Anniversary of the Rep Theater held at Webster University this past September.

I advanced to the Semi-Final Round of the 2016 Teen Talent Competition with 36 others where I performed my own rendition of "Cry Me A River".

For four years, I've been a member of my high school's concert and chamber choirs. Each year, we put on two spectacular concerts, held during Christmastime and in the spring. This summer, we traveled to the east coast where we sang at the University of Pittsburgh and St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC!
