Travis Chen

Hello! My name is Travis Chen and I reside in Arcadia, California. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to the United States at the age of three. Family, international travel and volunteerism are of the utmost importance to me. Meet me as you explore my ZeeMee!

Through my 7 years of serving on my school's Student Council, I have had the honorable experience representing my peers to the Board of Education, District Functions, Administration and community. As a Student Council Member, I led and partook in the building of school spirit and activities.

Throughout my community, I am a proud student advocate for increased student voice. My team and I successfully advocated for youth voice throughout city government. I have also continued to be an advocate for increased funding towards the education community across the state of California.

Through my network as a representative of our School District, I have had the opportunity to connect with various media outlets -- including World Journal, a national Chinese Newspaper, whom has written multiple articles regarding my outreach in my community.

As the first intern of the Arcadia Unified School District Digital Communications Internship program, I help guide 35 interns by teaching and providing feedback on their work as we promote programs and students. I currently assist in running our district's social media sites.

I first joined the Scouting program in 2007 as a Cub Scout. Since then, I have learned the true fundaments of the Scouting Program and live by those values daily. I earned my Eagle Scout Rank in 2015 and currently serve as my troop's Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.

In 2008, I created a mini business platform to sell FLOMO® Eco-Friendly Erasers. Since then, I run, manage and market the product to schools and businesses around California. In addition, I communicate exclusively with overseas vendors to provide the finest experience for my customers.

I am proud to have traveled to 21 countries on four continents throughout my lifetime. These adventures have opened my eyes to various cultures, allowing me to truly appreciate all that I am given. I have also taken this opportunity to become an elite TripAdvisor Reviewer!

In 2015, I was elected as the Arcadia High School Habitat for Humanity Club President; recovering the club to create a fine platform of volunteerism towards the Habitat for Humanity organization. We routinely participate in Habitat for Humanity Events as volunteers and ambassadors.

Arcadia High School's Senior Men & Women is an elite group of 50 Seniors selected to be ambassadors of the Arcadia Community. As Men's President, I lead the group and communicate with various organizations as we volunteer and serve our community through events.
