Zachary Francis

Hey, my name is Zachary Francis. I'm a versatile senior at Southlake Carroll and quite unique. I am the only person I know who reads Soren Kierkegaard during down time at wrestling tournaments. I aspire to be an engineer and am excited about what the future holds.

I am the Texas Greco-Roman State Champion and have competed on the national dual team for the past two years. I have been captain of my high school team during my Junior and Senior years. I'm grateful for the leadership skills and character that leading this team has given me.

I am an active member of Scholars and Athletes Serving Others where I have completed over 100 hours of community service aiding such programs as Special Olympics, various food and clothing drives and others. For several years I have also fought cancer by serving as team captain for Relay For Life.

I've always enjoyed learning how things work and learning hands-on. In this video clip, you can see me explaining my final project for my school's STEM academy. I plan to continue my studies in engineering in college.

The manager of our local GameStop hired me when he overheard me talking to another customer and realized how knowledgeable I was. Video games are definitely one of my many passions.

I have always loved to eat. Lately, I've been teaching myself how to cook too. My favorite cookbook is Ad Hoc at Home by Thomas Keller and I'm currently on a quest to cook the perfect gourmet hamburger - just in time for college.
